"Addiction" is Astro Butterfly School's translation of Carl Jung’s approach to addiction, transcendence, and individuation into astrological language.

In this framework, addiction is seen as a universal, archetypal drive - not just something that affects a small percentage of people. While only about 10% of people meet the criteria for clinical addiction, all of us have some form of addictive tendency.

Even when these patterns are subtle or easy to overlook, they matter - because they show us where we reach for transcendence, comfort, or a deeper sense of meaning.



The outer planets - Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto - act as windows into the deepest longings of the psyche, the archetypal currents that pull us toward something beyond ordinary life.

In this course, these 3 planets are our primary guides, each one shining a light on a particular pathway or style of addiction.

In each module, we’ll explore one of these outer planets as both a metaphor and a living force in your chart - a way to map and understand how your own longing for “more” might take shape.
