Intercepted Signs
A practical deep-dive into what interceptions mean, how they show up in lived experience, and how to work with them
What are Intercepted Signs?
Why do some charts have signs hidden inside their houses? These are intercepted signs - signs that don’t appear on any house cusp in quadrant-based systems (such as Placidus, Porphyry, or Koch).
Someone’s first house might start in Leo, include Virgo, and even a bit of Libra. In this example, we say that Virgo is intercepted.
This creates an interesting dynamic because, without an area of expression (the house cusp), the energy of that particular sign is harder to access directly.
It’s “in the closet” - very much there, but also a little bit hidden. It’s real and alive - but the door is closed. To access the energy of the sign that’s “in the closet,” we have to open the door of the room the closet is in first.
Having intercepted signs is not something negative - but it’s a nuance that helps us understand why accessing the energies of particular signs - in our example, Virgo and Pisces - is not as straightforward as with other signs.
Intercepted Signs Course
To dive deeper into this fascinating - and little-talked-about - topic, enroll in the Intercepted Signs course. The course consist of a prerecorded webinar and supporting materials.
The Intercepted Signs course is a practical deep-dive into what interceptions mean, how they show up in lived experience, and how to work with them.
You will learn how the same interception can express differently depending on house placement, how planets in intercepted signs behave, and how to interpret them through rulers and timing techniques.
